GET TO KNOW COLEEN
Coleen Gottloeb serves as Broker-in-Charge of Cashiers Valley Real Estate, bringing nearly three decades of experience, leadership, and vast local knowledge to one of the Plateau’s most trusted real estate firms.
With close to 30 years in the Cashiers real estate market, Coleen has built a career defined by integrity, insight, and an exceptional ability to guide clients through meaningful transitions. Known for transforming the seemingly ordinary into the extraordinary, she excels at uniting buyers and sellers in pursuit of homes, land, and lifestyles that reflect their dreams and values.
For Coleen, real estate is never just about transactions — it’s about relationships. She is deeply committed to understanding each client’s unique goals and priorities, and she approaches every transaction as a trusted advisor, advocate, and confidant. Her clients value her steady guidance, clear communication, and thoughtful attention to detail from first conversation through closing and beyond.
Coleen’s leadership experience is extensive. She began her real estate career in Cashiers with Coldwell Banker Carolina Mountains, where she became Broker-in- Charge and Owner. She later transitioned to Landmark Realty Group, further broadening her market knowledge and professional perspective, before joining McKee Properties in 2017 as Broker-in-Charge. In that role, she served as the firm’s chief administrative officer, overseeing daily operations, contract review, compliance, and broker support. She also played a key role in professional development and continuing education, while serving as the company’s primary liaison to state and local real estate organizations. Following the 2024 merger of McKee Properties with Cashiers Sotheby’s International Realty, Coleen continued in the Broker-in-Charge role. In 2025, she transitioned to Office Manager and full-time Broker, allowing her to refocus on her passion for client-facing work — before stepping into her current leadership role with Cashiers Valley Real Estate in January 2026.
A native of St. Cloud, Florida, Coleen holds a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from Florida State University and is a proud third-generation Seminole. She earned her North Carolina real estate license in 1996 and holds numerous professional designations, including Certified Residential Specialist (CRS), Graduate, REALTOR® Institute (GRI), Green, Resort & Second-Home Property Specialist (RSPS), Seniors Real Estate Specialist (SRES), and membership in the Institute for Luxury Home Marketing.
Coleen and her late husband, Miles, fulfilled a long-held dream when they moved to the Cashiers area in 1995. Her connection to the mountains runs deep — her maternal grandfather was born in what is now part of the Great Smoky Mountains, near Hughes Ridge, named for her family and located just inside the park near the Cherokee entrance.
Highly engaged in the community, Coleen has served for many years on the Board of Directors of the Highlands-Cashiers Multiple Listing Service. She is also a member of Friends of Lake Glenville, the Cashiers Historical Society, Friends of Panthertown, and Waterfall Keepers of North Carolina.
Coleen is the proud mother of one son, Jake, a graduate of Western Carolina University who currently works for the Southwestern Commission. An avid outdoorswoman, she enjoys traveling, hiking, boating, biking, camping, and kayaking. In her downtime, she can often be found gardening, bowling, playing trivia with friends, or enjoying a good movie.
